Almost 100 .ie domains registered every day in 2015

The IEDR (.IE Registry) has published some facts and figures about the .IE domain name:-

– 35,225 new .ie domains registered in 2015, a 13% increase on 2014;

– Net additions (new registrations less non-renewed .ie domain registrations) up 48%, the highest number recorded since 2011;

– Dublin, Cork and Galway account for highest number of registrations in 2015;

– .ie registrations in rural Munster, Ulster and Connacht lagging significantly behind Leinster.

Hosting Ireland is the fastest growing .ie registrar, what does that mean? Well when you take the net amount of registrations we process (that is new registrations less non-renewals) then we are growing faster than any other registrar… So out of almost 100 Registrars we account for nearly one in every eight .ie domains registered in Ireland.

What you need to know about ‘Landrush’ and ‘General Availability’.

‘Landrush’ application phase:-

1. The ‘Landrush’ application process will open on 21st February 2016 and run for 30 days until 22nd March 2016. However, you can pre-book your application now.
2. All ‘Landrush’ applications must meet the standard .IE registration criteria.
3. The non-refundable application fee has been reduced to €149.00 plus vat (was €199.00 plus vat).
4. Applications will be responded to within 48-72 hours.
5. If there is more than one legitimate application for the domain then the application process will proceed to an auction process which is planned for late March. Your application fee will become your auction entrance fee.

General Availability:-

1. Any remaining domains after ‘Landrush’ phase will be available on a ‘first come first served’ basis.
2. All applications must meet the standard .IE registration criteria.
3. Pricing will be the standard .IE domain registration fee of €19.95 plus vat.

One and Two letter .ie domain names are now available for application. The first phase ‘Sunrise’ application process commenced on Monday 16th November 2015 and runs for 30 days!

As an Accredited Registrar Hosting Ireland is geared up to process One or Two letter .IE domain application commencing 16th November 2015. Application rules are strict so please read the terms below before applying.
The application process will have three stages, ‘Sunrise’, ‘Landrush’ and ‘General Availability’.

‘Sunrise’ application phase:-

1. The ‘Sunrise’ application process will open on 16th November 2015 and run for 30 days until 16th December 2015.
2. During the ‘Sunrise’ period only those applicants with a Registered Trademark that correspond exactly to the domain name will be able to apply for the domain.
3. The non-refundable application fee is €499.00 plus vat.
4. Applications will be responded to within 48-72 hours.
5. If there is more than one legitimate application for the domain then the application process will proceed to an auction process which is planned for late January. Your application fee will become your auction entrance fee.
6. If you don’t have a Trademark then you can wait until the ‘Landrush’ phase which will commence in February.

‘Landrush’ application phase:-

1. The ‘Landrush’ application process will open on 21st February 2016 and run for 30 days until 22nd March 2016. However, you will be able to pre-book your application (we’ll advice you of when you can do this as soon as we know which domains are still available following ‘Sunrise’)
2. Only domains not registered during the ‘Sunrise’ period will be available during the ‘Landrush’ application phase.
3. All ‘Landrush’ applications must meet the standard .IE registration criteria.
4. The non-refundable application fee is €199.00 plus vat.
5. Applications will be responded to within 48-72 hours.
6. If there is more than one legitimate application for the domain then the application process will proceed to an auction process which is planned for late March. Your application fee will become your auction entrance fee.

General Availability:-
